At the same time Apple unveiled new or upgraded iP­hones, iPads and other products to the usual press fanfare last week, Canon U.S.A. held its largest technology showcase, an event it stages at cities worldwide only every five years.

The fact that the Melville-based company is much more than its array of industry-standard cameras was nowhere more apparent than at the Canon Expo 2015 New York held Sept. 10-11.
